FORMAT:

The Maryland Lacrosse Tournament is a competitive summer tournament open to boys club teams from class of 2025 (current 4th graders) to 2021 (current 8th graders). All divisions compete in a championship format, with each team playing a minimum of five games. Games are 4 ten-minute quarters with one time out per half. Halftime is 4 minutes.

The tournament is a grade-based event. Those teams entering as age-based should use the information to the right as a guide for which level to enter your team.

McDonogh’s campus allows for games on adjacent fields, providing for easy game day logistics...with nearby parking!

Tourney Machine App allows for teams and spectators to follow tournament action.

Food, Drink and Merchandise Vendors on tournament site throughout the weekend.

Costs:

Entry fee is $1500 per team. Non-Refundable deposit of $300 is due by February 1, 2017.

Balance due May 15, 2017.

2021A Division - Current 8th grade teams or Most Competitive U15 teams. 2021B Division - Current 7th/8th grade teams or less experienced U15 teams.
2022 A Division - Current 7th grade teams or Most Competitive U13 teams. 2022 B Division - 6th/7th grade combo teams or less experienced/younger U13 teams.
2023 A Division - Most Competitive current 6th grade teams. 2023 B Division - 5th/6th grade combo teams or less experienced 6th grade teams.
2024 A Division - Most Competitive current 5th grade teams. 2024 B Division - 4th/5th grade combo teams or less experienced 5th grade teams.
2025 A Division - Most competitive current 4th grade teams. 2025 B Division - 3rd/4th grade combo teams or less experienced 4th grade teams.

Coach Hilgartner is entering his 22nd year as a high school lacrosse coach. He is currently the head coach at McDonogh School (MD). Coach Hilgartner had prior coaching jobs with Severn School, Woodberry Forest, St. Mary’s HS and Sewickley Academy. He was named the Midwest Coach of the Year in 1997 and the Maryland State Lacrosse Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 2010. Hilgartner was a coach in the 1998 North-South game and also coached in the US Lacrosse Champion All-American game in 2011. Coach Hilgartner’s teams have won 175 games in his 12 years as a head varsity coach.
